Our country needs to be rebuilt from the ground up; not just in terms of physical infrastructure but also in terms of values and priorities. The first step in this rebuilding process has to be education
Education is the foundation stone of a nation’s greatness. It is from education that great statesmen, scientists and artists spring.
In our country today, many children are deprived of their basic right to education. Education should not be limited to only those who can afford it or those from rich families. It must be made available at affordable costs so that no child is left behind in the race for knowledge.
To reignite a Nation for greatness, education has to be a priority. Our children and grandchildren deserve the best education possible so they can compete on the global stage. We must ensure every child receives a quality education, regardless of their race or socio-economic status.
Education is not just about reading and writing. It’s also about understanding who we are as a Nation and why we are where we are today. We need to teach our children that slavery was a crime against humanity, but it’s also important for them to know that it was not our fault that this happened.
Besides, the government also has to reform our school system from top to bottom. We need to remove teachers who do not perform well and replace them with highly qualified individuals who are willing to put in the hard work necessary to help our children succeed. We also need to hold teachers accountable for their performance by giving merit based on results rather than tenure or seniority alone.
Education is essential for the development of healthy minds, bodies and spirits. It creates better citizens who are able to contribute to the growth of their respective communities. Without education, people cannot develop their full human potential as individuals or as members of society. This leads to ignorance, poverty, crime and other forms of social ills.
